The operator currently states that children under 5 travel free and that the published child fare applies from ages 5 to 12.
The operator’s current 2026 fares page still displays bicycle-fare rows labelled with date ranges from 2024–2025. Bușteni–Babele and Peștera–Babele are not the same ride
The first section climbs from Prahova Valley to Babele. The second connects Babele with the Peștera area on the other side of the Bucegi massif.
Bușteni → Babele
The principal route for visitors arriving in Bușteni by train or car and heading to Babele, the Sphinx or plateau routes.
Peștera → Babele
A separate cable-car section serving visitors who reach the Peștera–Padina side by road or other mountain routes.
Through journey
The operator currently lists the Bușteni–Babele–Peștera connection with a last ascent from Bușteni at 12:00 and last ascent from Peștera at 16:30. Allow transfer and queue time.
Queues, wind and your return time
There is no trustworthy fixed wait time. Weekends, holidays and clear summer mornings can be busy, but arriving early does not guarantee a specific cabin.
- Check whether the installation is operating before leaving your accommodation.
